The centre exists to provide a meeting place for the practice of a wide range of arts and crafts. The arts centre is at the top end of Colleyland facing the common. The building, which was an old Methodist Chapel, has been imaginatively converted to make full use of the space available. The Centre is a self-funding organisation and owns and maintains the building which has been recently upgraded. All members are encouraged to participate in the running of the Centre, even in a small way. The majority of the activities are of a workshop nature, offering facilities, equipment, shared cost of materials and friendly informal help. In most groups the 'teachers' are fellow members. Both beginners and those more advanced are welcome. Most groups meet once a week throughout the year. We would be pleased to talk to anyone who feels taht they could run or setup a group with anything to do with widening the arts and crafts scene. |
